Depression Responds to Exercise
Depression is not good news, but it is not bad news either. What you will need to do to pull out of it will be good for you, and because you will have to work hard at it, you will develop habits that you may not have developed otherwise, that will become more ingrained. So what will you need to do? Recognize that these negative thought habits that are generated by your depression deceive you because they “feel” real, when actually they are not. By fighting back and developing positive habits, such as exercising and positive thinking, your brain’s networking system will follow suit. As Winston Churchill, a depression-sufferer once said, “Don’t consent to the descent.” Your brain will rewire and hold your new thought and exercise habits, and it will become easier and easier to keep these habits.
