Therapy Component: Challenge and Correct

- Improves cognitive functioning as it builds muscle.
- Repairs habitual negative and self-sabotaging thinking, which feeds depression and drives self-destructive behaviors.
- Corrects mistaken and pessimistic self-image that the patient is somehow defective and/or unworthy.
- Often reduces or eliminates need for anti-depressant drugs.

Fitness Component: Weight Training + Cardio

- Slow, deliberate repetitions, similar to yoga and tai chi.

History of PsychFit

- Originally launched in 2003 in Washington, DC.
- Dr. Baxter-Cibel developed basic concepts in the early ’90’s while working as counselor for addicts, DWI offenders and runaway youths.
